Our academic team along with programme managers and teaching staff are the heart of the college who inspire and support our students on a daily basis and throughout their educational journey with us. To ensure full relevant support for every learner we have a programme manager in place for every department. All with significant experience within their sector we are delighted to show just some of our dedicated team.
Liz Mitchell has been dedicated to Special Needs Assisting as a discipline for the last 12 years and has spent many years as a tutor at Portobello Institute.
Following completion of a BA (Hons) degree at the University of Surrey and an MPhil at Trinity College Liz decided to pursue a career in Primary School teaching and holds a PGCE from St Patrick's Training College, Drumcondra.
As her teaching career progressed, she became very interested in the area of special needs education and has since worked as a Special Needs Educational teacher for the last 12 years.
Liz enjoys developing and fostering the educational skills and social abilities of children with special educational needs and her significant role as a teacher in the field is to enable their self-confidence to grow and flourish and to help them reach their own full potential.
Liz brings invaluable hands-on experience in her tutoring role at Portobello Institute offering our learners first-hand experience in the classroom along with crucial up to date theory and practice.
