Our academic team along with programme managers and teaching staff are the heart of the college who inspire and support our students on a daily basis and throughout their educational journey with us. To ensure full relevant support for every learner we have a programme manager in place for every department. Emma Manley is owner and creative director of successful fashion and accessories label, Manley. Launched in 2011, Manley retails throughout Ireland and boasts a thriving e-tail business, with shipments as far as Australia and Japan.
Educated at Coláiste Íde and the Grafton Academy, studying Fashion and Textile Design, Emma went on to hone her craft on both sides of the Atlantic, at luxury sportswear brand VPL in New York and later at Alexander McQueen in London, under the tutelage of the late Lee McQueen. Here Emma worked on some of McQueen's most iconic collections, including SS09, AW10 and SS10, alongside private commissions for couture clients. Eager to curate her own label, Emma returned to Dublin in 2011 and Manley was born. Fusing her love and skill for tailoring, luxe streetwear and embellishment, the result is a label of contemporary separates and directional eveningwear with a confident femininity. Delicate structures are juxtaposed with tailored silhouettes for an aesthetic that is precisely delicate and powerful at once.
In 2015, Emma extended Manley’s design portfolio to include Manley Jewellery. The contemporary jewellery line is created in unison with Manley womenswear and combines luxurious leather, ornate studding, embellishment and sterling silver, designed to be layered with Manley clothing and to elevate everyday separates. 2016 saw Manley extend its design portfolio once again, this time adding bags, launching with two styles, including embellished clutches and leather totes. Quality and ethical production is paramount to Manley, with materials sourced from the finest fabric houses and manufacturing carried out in both Italy and Ireland. Manley currently produces more than 50% of its womenswear in Ireland and 100% of Manley Jewellery at its design studio in Dublin.
Artistic collaborations have also proved successful for Manley. Collaborations have included uniforms for o2’s brand ambassadors and promotional team that host thousands of O2 customers and music fans at more than 120 concerts a year in The O2 Arena and Aviva Stadium. Manley teamed up with global beauty brand Sally Hansen to create a sell out SS14 limited edition nail polish collection. Kellogg's teamed with Manley to relaunch Special K through the ‘Life in Colour’ campaign. Manley collaborate with Insomnia Coffee Company to create their Christmas Cup. A respected name in fashion and astute business woman, Emma is a regular on TV3 Xposé, radio and regularly speaks at conferences and events on fashion, business motivation and entrepreneurship.
Emma is also co-founder of Bloss, an Irish Designer pop up shop. The first iteration of Bloss launched in October 2018 with a three month long luxury pop up shop in Dundrum Town Centre. The shop hosted 40 IRish fashion, jewellery, homewares and accessories brands. Bloss 2.0 is underway.
