Sinead manages work, home and study to achieve her degree
We are absolutely delighted to share this short insight from our Early years Degree student of the year Sinéad Darby.
The early years sector is moving towards a more qualified focus and recognised profession, where there is a greater emphasis on degree led practitioner. With that in mind Sinéad found the degree course offered by Portobello Institute fantastic and suited her perfectly with family life and small children of her own.
Sinéad found the content delivery to be well structured and extremely relevant, “The modules are structured into weekly readings which I found very relevant to the daily classroom life and the children I work with.”
She also found the tutors to be available, extremely knowledgeable and passionate in their delivery of their modules. “Tutors were also very helpful and easy to reach if I had a query.”
“Overall, I honestly found the balance of home life, work life and studying not as overwhelming I initially thought it would be and I submitted my thesis the day before my fourth baby!”
“I am so happy I made the decision to develop professionally and it’s not just me who benefits but my own children and the children that I work with too.”
Sinéad is a true inspiration to anyone looking to go back to college. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate her again on her great achievements and wish her a continued success in her ongoing journey.
