One Year On: Antonia Marin Motos
One year after graduation we caught up with graduate Antonio Marin Motos to see what she’s been up to and further education and volunteering have been top of her agenda.
Antonia’s journey began as an au pair with an Irish family in Cork before commencing her studies at Portobello Institute. She completed the Montessori Early Childhood studies Level 6 and joined her peers to celebrate at the Annual Graduation at Croke Park in 2017. Course highlights include course content being very relevant with course units very well structured, with an important practical approach to learning in place.
On successful completion of her course Antonia secured her dream job as a Montessori teacher in a creche which she adores. With this, she also dedicated herself to further studies to add to her skill set. She has completed her QQI Level 5 & 6 in Special Needs Assistant on a part-time evening basis. New skills and qualifications gained will mean that Antonia can ultimately give the best care to all of the children in her setting.
On November 18th Antonia will travel to Puna in India with a team of volunteers from Portobello Institute to volunteer in an orphanage. Here she will utilise her broad range of Early Years skills to educate, support and help the children.
We wish Antonia all the very best of good luck and safe travels on her trip to India and look forward to catching up when home.
