Aoife Kelly tutors across multiple Early Years programmes
We are absolutely delighted to share this insight into one of our core team members in the Early Years department at Portobello Institute. Aoife Kelly has been an Early Years tutor with us since 2006 and has significant experience working with children in various capacities since 1991.
Her career began as a Montessori teacher, and so Aoife understands the industry in real depth. From there she went into special education working in both mainstream and special schools.
Aoife is also a qualified play therapist and clinical supervisor with her own private practice, while working part time in resource at a Secondary School in Dublin.
She gained her Montessori and Special Needs Qualifications from Portobello Institute and progressed onto NUI Galway to complete a Post-Grad Certificate and Diploma course qualifying as a Play Therapist. She then decided to complete the MA programme in Practice Based Play Therapy, transferring to Leeds Beckett University completing a thesis on ‘Exploring the Effectiveness of Using LEGO in Play Therapy’.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Aoife for her commitment to the Institute and ongoing dedication to all our learners who choose to study here.
