Energy and Sustainability in FM, Level 4

Facilities management profession is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of support services for the property it manages. Facilities Managers play a central role in implementing sustainable energy practice within their business and in meeting sustainability targets. Their input can allow the organisation can realise substantial cost savings through implementation of an efficient energy management processes.

Who this Course is for?
Professional qualifications are designed to help you improve and develop relevant skills for your FM career path. The BIFM Energy and Sustainability in FM qualification is aimed at those working in the area of Facilities Management. This course is also suitable for first-line managers and supervisors seeking to develop their skills and gain a recognised Facilities Management qualification.

BIFM qualifications
The Energy and Sustainability in FM Award has been developed and awarded by The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), the professional body for facilities management. The BIFM qualifications have been developed through corresponding with key stakeholders, to develop qualifications which meet the needs of individuals working in the FM sector.

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college.

This course is delivered over part-time study

Module 1: Overview of FM 
This module enables learners to develop an understanding of the scope and extent of the facilities management function. Learners identify the range of associated services, the roles and responsibilities of FM in different organisations.

Module 2: Sustainability and environmental within FM
Sustainability and environmental within FM assists learners to develop their understanding how facilities management can promote corporate responsibility and sustain within the organisation. The unit also develops understanding of the principles and methods of waste management

Module 3: Energy and utilities management and FM 
This module assists learners to develop their understanding of energy and utilities management principles. Implementing processes and monitoring systems and energy and utilities management policy

Block release: Programme delivered over 3 Saturdays and one Wednesday evening.
