Rachel Maguire
Rachel is a Sports graduate with an Honours Degree in Human Physiology and Sport Rehabilitation from IT Carlow. Soon after graduating she was fortunate to gain employment at Whites Hotel Whole Body Cryotherapy and High Performance in Wexford. Time spent here gave Rachel invaluable experience in treatment, rehabilitation and training of many top athletes and sports teams both nationally and internationally. Armed with such knowledge she soon advanced to Sports tutoring at Portobello Institute leading in areas of Sports Massage, Anatomy Physiology and Health and Fitness. Setting a status within the Sports progamme the college are delighted to have Rachel on board as Sports Director for Portobello Institute. Rachel continues to lecture in addition to her role as Course Director.
Maeve Barry
Maeve is the unique position of understanding the role of both Mental and Physical training in the
pursuit of performance excellence and injury rehabilitation. With a comprehensive and well rounded academic background in the area of sporting performance, Maeve is qualified with an honours degree in Human Physiology and Sports Rehabilitation, a Post Graduate Diploma in Exercise Physiology and a
Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Maeve has been tutoring in Portobello Institute for the past four years on part time and full time sports courses. Maeve has a deep rooted love for sport and is committed to the quest of the pursuit of success in all individuals in all areas of their lives.
Daniela Dietl
Daniel has been tutoring for Portobello Institute since 2009. he teaches Pilates and exercise to music in which he thoroughly enjoys putting students through their paces in order for them to become excellent instructors fully equip to go out into the Industry and work in Gyms, coaching teams or working one to one with personal training clients. Daniel Speaks on his experience within the industry;
"I have always been passionate about health & fitness and am lucky to be able to earm my living doing somehing I love to do. Over the years, I have qualified in a variety of different spheres of this industry, such as Remedial Sports Massage Therapy, Nutritional Health Coaching, Fitness Instructing, Personal Training, Pilates, Zumba, Kettle Bells and a variety of different exercise classes such as Aerobics, Step Aerobics, Spinning & Aqua Aerobics. I run a studio on the East Coast where I can put my skills to practice with private clients as well as teaching classes. This Industry is ever growing with the general public becoming more and more overweight, unhealthy, unfit so for me it is an honour to be able to work with the college to prepare our students to go out into the real world and tackle some of these issues with the most up-to-date skills toolbox possible."
Leila Johari
Leila has a passion for health and fitness and has been involved in the industry for several years. Having been active in sports and from a very young age, Leila recognised the importance of nutrition in achieving optimum results not only in sporting activities but in all areas of life. Leila truly believes that proper nutrition consultant and running nutrition and how it relates to each individual on a personal level. Leila is committed to educating people so that they can learn to help themselves and achieve optimum well-being by applying that knowledge to sit their own needs in a way that suits their lifestyle.
