The Sports and Recreation course is a full time comprehensive sports course designed to prepare students for a career in the leisure industry or to provide a pathway to further study. The course aims to encourage students to engage in a broad area of study in both academic and practical areas. Successful candidates of this course can enjoy a range of careers in the Health and Fitness Industry.

Qualifications gained

FETAC Level 5 Major award in Sports Recreation
Choice of FETAC Level 5 Component Certificate in:
- Soccer (FAI Recognised)
- Gaelic Football & Hurling (GAA recognised)
- Rugby Coaching

Entry requirement

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. Acceptance to Full Time courses is interview based, there are no specific points requirements.

* Both the Communications and Work Experience modules will be completed by the student via Distance Learning during Semester 2 (Jan - Apr)

** Additional cost for First Aid is €235, Cost for additional FETAC elective Module is €450. Please note these modules are not mandatory.

Upon successful completion of this course, students can then progress onto our FETAC Level 6 Sports Development programme.
