The Child Development course teaches you an understanding of the child’s social, emotional and physical development which is paramount if you are to provide a caring and nurturing environment for children to develop in.
This course covers the individual variation in stages of development, the factors that can affect it and the role you play in promoting child development.

Qualifications gained:
- Portobello Institute Certificate in Child Development
- FETAC Level 5 Component Certificate in Child Development
Entry requirements:
Entry to this course is by direct application.
It is preferred but not essential that you hold an Ordinary Leaving Cert or equivalent. You are invited to contact the course co-ordinator to discuss the course and career options prior to submitting your application-this is optional.
