Enrolment and Making Payments

What if the Course Code is not available for the course I want to do?

If a Course Code is not available that means enrolment is not possible at this time because we are not yet taking bookings for that course. Course Codes, Fees and other details are usually published not later than 3 months from the start date of the course. Please check back, or email us if you need more information about the course if the codes and fee information is missing.

Fee Notes

All part time course fees are due prior to course commencement date unless an instalment plan is in place. Fees stated include a €120 non refundable administration fee. Fees are still payable should a student fail to complete a course. Tuition fees, deposits and examination fees are not refundable.

Installment Option Available

Instalment Options are available on all courses costing over €1,000, and are typically a deposit of €1000 with the remainder divided into instalments payable monthly by direct debit. There is an additional administrative charge to avail of the instalment option. Please email info@portobelloinstitute.ie for instalment details for specific courses.

Application Procedure

Applications can be submitted with appropriate fees as follows: By post, in person to our offices, with credit card details by phone, fax to 01 8721989 or on-line through our secure booking system here. Fees are accepted by cheque, cash, postal order, laser and all major credit cards.

Course Duration

Courses commence on the date detailed and the finish date detailed is the final date of tuition. It does NOT include the last date for external examinations. Exam dates are usually within 10 days of the final date of the course. This is subject to change in accordance with the examining bodies.

Examination Fees, Course Books & Materials:

Unless otherwise stated exam fees are included in course fees. Exam fees for students sitting British validating body examinations are quoted in sterling and are additional to course fees payable before the course commences. All examination fees are subject to change in accordance with the validating bodies regulations. Failure to pay exam fees on the due date or students with outstanding tuition fee balances may result in non-enrolment with relevant examining bodies.

The cost of course books and materials are not included in the tuition fees. This cost can vary depending on quality & quantity of materials required by student. Books are available from Amazon.co.uk, All course notes are available to download from the college website, access to the internet and printing facility is a requirement for all students.

Notification of Cancellation of Classes

The college allocates 2 extra classes to every course to cover the cancellation of any classes due to tutor illness, bad weather etc. Where a class must be cancelled, students will be notified by text to the mobile phone number detailed on the application form and by email to the address detailed on the application form.

Communication Methods

The methods the college uses to communicate to students is via text message &/or email. It is a mandatory requirement that you provide a valid email address &/or mobile phone number. It is the student’s responsibility to check text messages & emails for any messages.

Disclaimer

All details are correct at time of print however Portobello Institute reserves the right to alter, change or withdraw any of the modules, timetables or tutors on this schedule and accompanying prospectus. Courses are run based on student demand. Where there are insufficient numbers prior to commencement, the college reserves the right to withdraw a programme. A full refund of fees will be made to students enrolled.
