Students of Portobello Institute enjoy the chance to attend highly specialised workshops to gain further knowledge in their area of learning. This is especially useful if students are thinking about starting their own business or want to specialise in their future career.

These are usually held 1 afternoon per week or over weekends. They are not included in the course fee but are offered to students at a much reduced rate.

Airline & Tourism Call Centre Operations

 

This workshop is especially suitable to those attending the Travel and Tourism courses or the Airlines training courses.

 

The workshop will provide hands-on training to develop the high skills demanded in call centres and to enhance opportunities for recruitment and employment using specific training techniques. The workshop delivers the knowledge and competencies required to work in a specialised travel or airlines Call Centre. The workshop is not included in the course fee, but is offered to students at a much reduced rate.

 

Course Structure:

 

This course will be delivered over one weekend.

  • Dealing with Difference
  • Customer Legislation

Building Management

 

This workshop is a specialist course for those attending the IFMA Facilities Management Professional course. The workshop is not included in the course fee, but is offered to students at a much reduced rate.

 

Course Structure:

 

This course will be delivered for one half day over a weekend.

 

Course Content:

 

During this weekend course students will cover the following:

  • Building management
  • Health and Safety in Building Management
  • Contractor Control and Review
  • Operation and Maintenance
  • Service Level Agreements
