Occupational First Aid - 3 Day Course

The Occupational First Aid course is suitable for parents, grandparents and babysitters and is ideal for anyone working in a professional childcare environment. The First Aid course is delivered over 3 full days and is recognised by the HSA and the PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council). The course also covers paediatric first aid.

Entry requirement

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.

Qualifications gained

• FETAC 5 Occupational First Aid (valid for 2 years)

Course structure

This is an intensive three day course, run over 1 and a half weekends.

The Occupational (and paediatric) First Aid course will include a mixture of theoretical and practical modules.

4. Child and infant CPR
5. Obstructed Airway Management
6. Rescue Breathing
7. Unconsciousness
8. Burns and Scalds
9. Fractures & Sprains
10. Convulsions and Medical Emergencies
11. Heartsaver AED
