BIFM qualifications

The FM Projects and Strategy FM Award has been developed and awarded by The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), the professional body for facilities management. The BIFM qualifications have been developed through corresponding with key stakeholders, to develop qualifications which meet the needs of individuals working in the FM sector.

Course Overview

The award consists of 2 modules which are:

• Module 1: Managing Facilities Management projects
This module enables a learner to undertake a facilities management project; assemble and manage facilities management teams and undertake projects from planning, through monitoring and reporting to completion and review

• Module 2: Organisational & Facilities Management strategy
This module enables a learner to undertake an analytical overview of the scope and context of facilities management, including the impact of change, development and innovation on facilities management practices

Course Structure

Block release: Programme delivered over 4 Saturdays

Assessment Criteria

Practical assessment tasks that are work-based, reflecting live business projects and activities are the core assessment techniques used for this qualification.

Our Lecturers

We have a team of over ten Facility Management lecturers with varied experience within the sector. Our lecturers are experienced in management of facilities, property or in related fields. They are all passionate about training and development.

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college.

Class Sizes


At the Centre for the Modern Environment we are committed to ensuring our learners gain the most, academically and personally, throughout their time with us. To facilitate this, we limit our class sizes to a maximum of 14 students on part-time programmes. These uniquely small classes, helps to create the environment for discussion and collaboration. Smaller class sizes also allow learners to get to know everyone in their group, in turn, learners to feel comfortable and confident to ask questions.
