The Health Service Skills course will enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a variety of healthcare settings or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

Upon completion, learners will be able to contribute under supervision to planning, implementing and evaluating care delivered to a specified client group, thereby facilitating an understanding of the needs of clients in relation to the maintenance of their independence, dignity, respect, self-esteem and choice.

Back to Education Allowance

If you are currently unemployed and in receipt of a social welfare payment you may be eligible to the Back to Education Allowance which allows you to return to education and still retain your welfare payment  You must be aged 21 or over and be accepted onto an accredited full time course to meet the criteria. Please speak with your local welfare office to discuss your eligibility as there may be an alternative route.
