Community Care Assistant Full time

The Community Care Assistant course equips students with the skills and knowledge to care for patients in a safe and hygienic environment. You will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the Care Worker and acquire practical skills for work in caring environments. You will gain an understanding of the nursing process, appreciate the models of care and develop an awareness of nursing ethics and etiquette in care situations.

Community Care Assistants work with people who, perhaps through illness, a physical or learning disability or a mental health problem, need support to cope within their own home. Depending
on the client's needs and ability, Care Assistants enable their clients to do day-to-day tasks such as washing, getting dressed and preparing meals. They also provide social and emotional care.

Community Care Assistants are educated on the ageing process and how to provide individualised holistic care for the older person. You are introduced to the area of sociology and social studies and study the levels of personal development. In addition, you will be afforded the opportunity to further your personal development and enhance your communication skills.
