Fashion Marketing Part time

Fashion Marketing is the business that moves the world's fashions from designers' showrooms to the retail floor and into the hands of consumers. This Fashion Marketing course will prepare students for a career in the retail and wholesale fashion industry. Students will understand the role of fashion media as an important tool of communication, identifying the main channels of fashion media and the most effective promotional mix for a specific line of merchandise. Focusing on behind-the-scenes operations, students learn the importance of planning, branding, marketing, advertising and public relations in the fashion industry.

Students will gain an indepth understanding of fashion cycles and the key trends in fashion advertising.

The Fashion Marketing course is suitable for anyone wishing to work in the fashion industry particulary those who aim to open their own fashion store and require an understanding of the basics of fashion marketing.

Entry requirement

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.

Course structure

This is a part time course delivered 1 evening per week over 24 weeks.

Course content modules

  1. Fashion Marketing Management
    This module will focus on the main elements of fashion marketing including planning, understanding the role of fashion media as a tool for communication, advertising management and methods in relation to fashion advertising. Students will also understand the relationship between brands, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and understand the role of public relations in relations in relation to image and public perception.

  2. Online Fashion Entrepreneurship
    The online Fashion business is emerging and lucrative. It is important that students learn to identify opportunities in the fashion industry particularly suited to eCommerce, develop appropriate eBusiness strategies for these opportunities in order to exploit them. This module will explore how an eBusiness opportunity can integrate with other business activities. This module will also explore the elements of setting up a fashion website including tuition on site hosting, online payment mechanisms, security techniques for data and payment mechanisms. Understanding the social impact of an online fashion business is an essential factor for any fashion business in today's world.
