Virgin Airways Fares and Ticketing Level 1 course introduces students to the world of the travel industry and highlights the professionalism required to meet the high standards demanded by today's business and leisure traveller. You will be taught how to create, price and document various itineraries, according to the customer's requirements.

Virgin Airways qualifications are recognised worldwide in the travel industry and graduates will be able to apply them to working for any major airline. The Fares and Ticketing qualification will also enable graduates to work for Business Travel Agencies where the salaries are some of the highest in the industry and career prospects are excellent.

Entry requirement

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.

Course structure

This is a part time course delivered over 4 weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Course content modules

1. Compose a comprehensive travel itinerary for either a business or leisure traveller.
2. Quote a range of fares from APEX to first class.
3. Issue airline tickets and multiple purpose documents from the BSI range of neutral stock.
4. Calculate a multisector, one way or return journey using the mileage system. Understand how a Computerised Reservation System (CRS) performs similar tasks to those shown manually.
5. Converse on a range of travel related supplementary information with respect to BSP accounting methods, agency licensing procedures, consolidated fares and automation within the industry.
