The Energy Policy course is designed to give students a broad overview of the energy industry and pertinent policy issues surrounding it. Knowledge of national and international Energy strategies and principles is essential for anyone who would like to take steps towards employment within this industry, one of the largest and most profitable in the world.
The Energy Policy course is aimed at graduates, professional engineers, scientists, environmental, banking and investment professionals who want to move into the energy sector.

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.

- Irish energy policy
- EU energy policy
- Global energy policy
- Other policies that impact on energy policy such as climate change and environment as well as competition policies and the impacts on national governments within the EU of directives from the EU.
- It will also include planning policies and the energy sector including barriers to renewable energy development.
- It will provide an overview of the energy regulatory system and international energy and commodity markets including supply, demand, pricing and related impacts on the Irish energy sector
