Facilities Management Part time

The Facilities Management course lead to the ILM Level 3 Certificate in Facilities Management. The course aims to give learners who have limited experience in Facilities Management or learners seeking a career change to Facilitites Management the foundation for their formal development in a Facilities Management role. The qualification does this by developing broad leadership and management skills and specific facilities management skills.

Facilities Management confronts various issues that organisations face today - life cycle, cost analysis, value engineering, energy efficiency, sustainability and green design, security preparedness and disaster recovery.

Students of the Facilities Management course will develop their skills in:

• Understanding Facilities Management within the context of an organisation
• Managing and developing relationships in the workplace
• Delivering service in the workplace
• Managing Health and Safety in the workplace
• Understanding the role of leadership and management in a Facilities Management context
• Managing and maintaining property and assets
• Working with costs and budgets in an Facilities Management environment

• Portobello Institute Certificate in Facilities Management
• ILM Level 3 Certificate in Facilities Management

Entry requirement

Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.
