Joanna Power

A graduate of Tourism in DIT, tutor Joanne Power began her career in the travel Industry in USIT. From there she took a position in Fáilte Ireland and was involved in the promotion of tourism in Ireland at national and international levels. She spent 10 years in Aer Lingus initially working in the Sales and Marketing Department. She spent four years in the Human Resources department of the airline focused in the areas training and recruitment. She is passionate about customer service in the Travel and Tourism Industry and has lectured for the past 9 years in Portobello Institute. She lectures in Tourism and Travel, Tour Operations, Airline Studies, Customer Service and Communications.

Josephine Clarke

Josephine has worked extensively in the Tourism Industry where she took up posts such as a Tour Guide at Cork City Goal, Keycamp Holidays Co-ordinator in France, and various tourism establishments both in Ireland and Australia. After graduating with an MA in Business and International Tourism, she concentrated on her teaching career teaching both Business and Economics in a boarding school in the Swiss Alps. She gained excellent management skills from developing and managing an Irish Language Tour Company where her French language was a key asset to acquiring the position. Josephine has lectured in various colleges and Institutes around Dublin and specialises in Tourism, Marketing and Management. She will fuse her industry knowledge and expertise into the lecture to give students a better understanding of the course.

Anne-Marie Mc Auley

Certified Trainer/Tutor. BS Psychology.  Anne- Marie had over 20 years experience in business and retail management.  She has worked at senior level with companies such as Saks Fifth Ave (USA), The Body Shop, Claire’s Accessories, The Health Store Group, and TGI Fridays (USA).  Staff training and development as well as developing new initiatives to maximise sales has been Anne-Marie’s main areas of expertise and focus.  Anne-Marie has recruited, trained and developed hundreds of staff throughout her career. Anne Marie tutors in a wide variety of subjects and her sessions are informative and practical with real life scenarios integrated into the learning. The lessons – which include field trips to businesses – are all wrapped up in high energy and fun.

 

Tracey Despard

Tracey Despard B.Comm International UCD.  H.Dip Marketing practice, Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Tracey has over fifteen years experience in business and retail management, having worked successfully in Ireland and the UK with Levi/Dockers and LVMH, specifically Louis Vuitton. Tracey has coached and managed teams to high performance and excellent standards and brings this practical knowledge to all of her sessions. Tracey has a passion for coaching and development that underpins the “managing people” tutorials.

 

Darren Connolly

Darren Connolly is a practicing Barrister. Darren graduated from University College Galway with an Honours Degree in Commerce. He later studied Law at the Honorable Society of the King’s Inns and was called to the Irish Bar in 2012. Prior to commencing practice at the Irish Bar, Darren trained as an Actor at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and went on to act Off-Broadway as well as having numerous theatre and commercial credits to his name. His practice focuses on criminal law, while also practicing civil law with an emphasis on contract, defamation and personal-injuries. Darren has been teaching at Portobello Institute since 2013 and prior to this he has guest lectured in criminal and contract law seminars.

Rachel Farrell

After graduating from the Bachelor of Business Studies in the Institute of Technology Sligo, Rachel Farrell went on to study the MSc in Marketing Practice in the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Since completion of her masters she has worked with companies such AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and Google Ireland where she gained experience of working with both domestic and international markets. As a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland Rachel has a passion for technology and digital marketing. Her current role at Lyceum Training ranges from training facilitation to business development.
