Terms of Enrolment

• All students must provide a valid email address and mobile phone number while enrolled at Portobello Institute. This is the main way we communicate with the student body and it is the student's responsibility to check emails/texts for important updates, cancellations, notifications, results, events, seminars and so on. It is the students responsibility to inform Portobello Institute if any of their contact details change.
• A Late Payment policy applies where fees have not been paid 10 days prior to course commencement. Failure to pay on the due date will result in a cancellation of place on course and a penalty fee of 10% of the course fee will be charged. Fees are still payable should a student fail to complete the course. Tuition fees, deposits and examination fees are not refundable under any other circumstances.
• Refunds are issued only if:
  • A course is cancelled by Portobello Institute in which case fees will be fully refunded, OR the student gives a minimum of seven days notice to admissions office prior to the start date of the course in which case the registration fee of €120 will be deducted from the refund due.
  • Deposits, registration and tuition fees and examination fees are non refundable in any other circumstances.
  • Refunds are issued quarterly and the student will be informed of the date of issuance of the refund in writing except in the case of a course not running- in this case refunds are issued following the boards approval. (Approval for cancelled courses only are held monthly)
  • Tuition fees for all courses are due no later than 1 month prior to start date of the course. Late payment will result in cancellation of place or 10% penalty charge on the total course fee.
  • Tuition fees are still payable should a student fail to complete the course.
  • Initial payment towards a course is viewed by Portobello Institute as an acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
  • Refund applications can be collected at reception and upon completion must only be returned back to reception.
• Portobello Institute reserves the right to request a student to vacate their place on a course should their behaviour cause unnecessary disruption.
• Portobello Institute retains the right to refuse admission to a course and fees will not be charged in this case.
• Portobello Institute reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient applications and fees will be fully refunded in this case.
• Portobello Institute reserves the right to alter, change or withdraw any of the modules, timetables or tutors on this schedule & accompanying prospectus.
• Whilst every effort is made to ensure the safekeeping of all materials submitted, Portobello Institute will not be responsible for the loss or theft of any materials.
• Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the information contained in this document is correct, Portobello Institute is not liable for any errors or omissions.
