Course Payment Information (full time courses)
For full time courses, an interview and acceptance of your application by Portobello Institute is required before you make a full course payment. When you book online, the payment taken is €50. This is the fee for the interview ONLY. Please read The Enrolment Process below and follow all the steps. Once you have booked for an interview, we will communicate with you using the mobile and/or email address you provided.
The Enrolment Process
Step 1. Apply for Interview
Before applying for an interview, please check that you are eligible to take the course - each course page has a section marked 'Entry Requirement' and this section details the eligibility requirement. If you are not sure about eligibility, please contact us before making any payment.
If you wish to go ahead and apply for an interview simply make a payment for €50 using one of the payment methods listed in the section below Course Payment Options.
Please note: The €50 payment is non-refundable and non-deductible. Do not make any other payment until you have had the interview and have been offered a place by Portobello Institute.
Step 2. Acceptance of Place if Interview is Successful
If you are offered a place after interview, you will accept it by making a deposit of €1250 within 7 days of receiving your offer. If booking onto a course 1 month prior to the course start date - full payment must be made. If you decide to cancel your place on the course 7 days or more before the course start date an administration fee of €120 will be withheld from your refund.
Step 3. Make Final Payments on Balances Outstanding
1 month before the course start date, you will pay the balance of any course fees plus any examination fees where relevant. You will find details of exam fees in the relevant course pages. Exam fees listed in a currency other than Euro must be paid separately by Bankers Draft and made out to Portobello Institute in the currency specified. If no exam fee is specified, that means the exam fee is already included in your course fee.
Please note: There is a Late Payment policy which may apply if your account is not settled within 10 days of course commencement.
Course Payment Options
Online
Click the Book Now button at the bottom of the course page, fill out the appropriate details and continue to pay online. Please pay €50 only. Do include your PPS number if your course is FETAC/HETAC certified. Your PPS number is required by these examination bodies. You can omit this if you are an International Student.

We will accept the following methods of payment:
- Cash – only in person
- Cheque or Postal order – made payable to Portobello Institute
- Credit Card – fill in the requested details on the printed booking form
International Students
Please contact Portobello Institute regarding course enrolment. There are a number of steps involved which we would be happy to assist you on. International students must complete an interview with the course director before they are accepted onto a course. You will find detailed information in the International Students section.
Cancelling your place on a Full time course
Should you decide to cancel your place on the course 7 days or more before the course start date an administration fee of €120 will be withheld from your refund.
Late Payment Policy
Course fees are payable no later than 10 days prior to the commencement of the course. Failure to pay on the due date will result in a cancellation of place on course and a penalty fee of 10% of the total course fee will be charged. Fees are still payable should a student fail to complete the course. Tuition fees, deposits and examination fees are not refundable under any other circumstances.
Installment Policy
There is an instalment option available for full time courses. Please refer to the information provided and contact Portobello Institute directly on 01 892 0000.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Portobello Institute reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient applications and fees will be fully refunded at the end of the month of course cancellation. For more details of our Refund Policy, please refer to the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.
