Nails are painted with a jet black gloss nail polish with the under side of the free edge of the nail painted in a pillar box red colour.

Red is also used to create a look for nails that is a throw back to the war years of the1940’s. Where the nails are painted a deep red again but the half moon (lunula) is left bare. For the daring ones of you out there, you could take this season’s key fashion look of lace to the extreme and cut and shape pieces of lace to fit the nail plate and a secure it in place with a base coat and finish with two coats of top coat.

Straight from the catwalk shows in London and Milan, MAC Senior make up Artist – Lesley Keane show cased the trend looks for this coming season to our full time make -up artistry students and we going straight back to the 8O’S,think new romantics.” Lip Vicious” is a key look with the foundation having very clean, perfected lines of application to achieve a sculptured face plus strong brows, so put away those tweezers girls! and of course the look is finished with a very strong lip look- Bright red lipstick, reds with an undertone of Pink, dark berry shades.
Dark Smokey eyes are still featuring as another key look for this season but they now have a twist- Dark black eye shadow is applied to the lower eye lid in a very defined outline – no more blending for this look- the look if finished with an application of Vaseline, Gloss or eye gel to give a “wet” appearance and again strong brows or brows bleached out, the look is finished with a neutral lip colour…Vivienne Westwood showcased this at her London fashion show.Could you see yourself copying this look?
Photos to follow.
