I have just recently returned from Reggio Emilia in Italy and it was one of the most awesome and memorable experiences of my life. The fact that I got stuck in Italy and had to inter rail home added to the adventure of a life time. The Reggio Emilia childcare experience is inspiring and the fact that it originated from a group of parents wanting to invest in their children’s childhood experiences makes it even more inspiring. The preschools and infant toddler centers in this region are funded by the Municipal and are run to what can only be described as an impeccable standard. The day to day running of the centres is done by the teachers, artists and pedagogues but parents are 100% involved in all areas of the running and curriculum of the schools. I was struck by the sense of Unity and similar vision that everyone in the region had for the schools. I came away with a mountain of new ideas to implement in my school and for our students. Policy makers in Ireland should take lead from the respect and care that professional staff working in these centers holds for the children’s daily routines and artwork. Contact me for more information.

He was captivating, giving very personal examples to explain his method of communicating with his own children. This was a great opportunity for our students to put some of the theory they have learned in class into practice. They also got the opportunity to meet many other childcare professionals working within their locality. Great evening!

She briefed the students on the operation and development of Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports highlighting also the DAA’s involvement in domestic and international airport retail management. She described Irelands first Airport which wasd launched Thursday 19th January, 1940 in Collinstown where 14 Aerlingus Lockheed aircraft took off for Liverpool. Dublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest airport and among the 10 busiest airports in Europe. The DAA manages an average of 60,000 passengers per day and over 500 aircraft movements daily. Dublin Airport is open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year and there are 69 airlines servicing over 190 routes. Approx. There are 13,000 people employed on the airport campus in over 120 companies and approximately 1,500 employed directly by Dublin Airport Authority at Dublin Airport. This session was very informative and we wonder what Charles A Veley the world’s most travel man has to say about Dublin Airport…..
