Presentation time for our Business students

What is it like to pitch a Business idea to potential investors and banks successfully?  Well thats what our current Business students will find out on 14th February. In the style of the infamous TV show "Dragons Den" each of the students must present their ideas to a boad of investos lead by head tutor Maurice Knightly, college registrar Jamie McNamara and their fellow students.  The verbal presentation which can include a Powerpoint presentation must include the following;

• An outline of the type of Business and its Operations
• Aims/USP of the Business
• Target Market and Market plan
• Skills required and staff plan for the business
• Set up costs and financial forecasts
• Sources of finance (the sum of money you are looking from the Dragons to iinvest in return for equity in the business)

This is a great project which gives the students a real insight into Business planning and financing, creating and implementing a idea.  Students get to research gaps in various sectors where they think they could delivere a sustainable and profitable business idea. Last year there were great ideas from the Travel, Beauty and food industries.
