Portobello Institute were delighted to be asked to partake in a live TV show for Sky TV recently.  The Peoples Rainforest presented by Richard Bacon took a look into the Rainforest and its many properties to the human race.  Our makeup and beauty therapy students worked behind and in front of the cameras throughout the show.  This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain hands on experience on what it is like to be part of a live working TV show.

The producer of the show Emma Wogan was extremely happy with the students performance on the day.  She commented that  although the students had never worked on a TV show before their skills on the day including their conduct was welcomed.  Emma said "I was incredibly impressed with the students from Portobello Institute.  They were thrown in at the deep end but succeeded in taking charge of our spa area on the show, taking initiative to work independently.  I can't begin to tell you how useful this is in a television studio environment.  Furthermore our two spa guests were extremely complimentary of the girls and the treatments they received.  Their feedback on the day was that it was the best and most relaxing shoot they'd ever worked on.  The students were extremely well presented, polite and professional on the day. I would not hesitate to recommend all the girls to future employers whether within the beauty industry or the entertainment industry.  If and when I am working on another project in Dublin I will certainly contact Portobello Institute again.  Their help and support was really appreciated and were pleasure to work with.
