An essential part of any full time course at Portobello Institute is to undertake a work placement. This is when our students get the opportunity to put theory into practice in a real life work sitation.  It also gives the student the ideal platform in which to network amongst potential future employers.

Currently our Sports students are working with some fantasic names in the Sports field such as Parnell GAA and Landsdowne Rugby Club to name a few.

The Health Education students are carving out their careers in a number of key Health and Social care providers.  Collectively they are working at Tallaght Hospital, Hermitage Hospital, Sunbeam House, Ballyowen Meadows Special school and Phoenix Park Special School.

In our Travel and Tourism department the Travel Department only had good things to say about Travel student Pena.  Her employer says "Pena has been getting on really well.  She has made sure that she fully understands her work and asks questions were necessary before she undertakes a task.  Spot checks have been done on the work and she is performing well.  She is always ready to take on additional work and we would be happy to continue to have her working with us".

Well done to Pena and best of luck with our career in Travel and Tourism
