Nuala completed her Montessori level 6 studies through Prtobello Institute at one of our regional training centres in Letterkenny. Alongside her peers she recently celebrated her great achievements at our annual graduation in Croke Park.

Before starting out on a new and exciting voyage Nuala’s profession was primarily office based and whilst working as a receptionist the company she was employed by sadly closed their doors in 2009. This opened new opportunity for Nuala who decided to study childcare resulting in a much deeper passion for Montessori.

Overall, Nuala found the course to be very interesting and sometimes challenging but she is very happy with her decision. “I found Portobello Institute to be great with very supportive and friendly tutors in place throughout my entire studies”.  For Nuala the course was extremely practical and she feels has developed a great knowledge and skillset in her new profession. “The aspects that I have enjoyed the most from my studies have been many and include the importance of diverse cultural and arts.”

“In addition, the practical life and the sensorial modules allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of each child and their development stages which allows me to learn about their individual personalities though their expressions”.  Throughout her work experience Nuala worked in a preschool setting. “Starting out on a new career path, this has allowed me to grow in my communication skills, my confidence and self-esteem.”

“I have really enjoyed working with all the new friendly and different little personalities and am looking forward to many more rewarding, happy and enjoyable years of fun, making new friends along the way”.

Nuala has said that she would definitely recommend the college to others. Overall, she found it to be “very supportive and friendly with a prestigious reputation, particularly for early years training”.
