Spring 2012 sees the launch of a new faculty by Portobello Institute providing tailored training and consultancy in the build environment, in sustainability and the environment.  The Institute have consulted with key professionals in the industry and designed a number of Internationally accredited programmes in Energy Management, Environmental Management and Waste Management.  This new faculty is suitably named CME - Centre for the Modern Environment.

As part of the CME faculty the Institute introduce their new Certified Energy Manager programme which is predominantly aimed at Engineering Managers, Facility Managers, Energy Team Members and Consultants, Commissioning Personnel, Design Engineers and Senior Technician.  The course is delivered in conjunction with the Association of Engineers and delivered by AEE approved instructors.

Portobello Institute are delighted to have Energy Manager expert Ian Boylan on the board of lecturers for this programme.  Ian is a Chartered Engineer with many year's experience in the energy industry.  He is the Energy Services Manager for Eirdata, a Cork based Energy Consultancy Company.  He represents the Association for Energy Engineers in Western Europe holding the position as Assistant Director for International  Member Development, and is their leader instructor for Western Europe qualified as an International trainer for their flagship program, the Certified Energy Manager qualification, and also their presigious Certified Energy Auditor, CEA, and Certified Measurement & Vertification Professional, CMVP qualifications.  He also delivers training on Effective Implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.

Ian delivers training in energy management at home and internationally and has delivered training for energy professionals in Ireland, UK, Canada, Norway, Italy and Ukraine in the last twelve months alone.  He specializes in structured energy management systems (ISO 50001, EN 16001), Energy Engineering, Energy Management, Energy Management Systems Training and Utility Systems Optimization.  An extremely qualified and experienced energy professional, he is renowned and well regarded in the energy industry and advises many large multi-national companies on their energy engineering and management issues at home and internationally.
