Our course directors work tirelessly building relationship with industry bodies and experts with an aim to providing the student with first hand experience in thier chosen sector.  Throughout their course students will partake in a number of key field trips and most recently our Facilities Management students were fortunate to have a guided tour around Croke Park and see in detail the vast amounts of facilities available at this premium statium.

Croke Park is a firm landmark in Dublin and is currently at the top of its game when it comes to facilities.  The venue has recently been awarded a BS8901 making it the first statium in the world and the first in Ireland to receive this award.  This award  means Croke Park operates as a sustainanble event management site which sets them above its competitors as clients focus on the carbon impact of their events.  The venue which is available for event hire from private parties, TV shows, film shoots through to weddings boasts numerous key features.  There are three main areas to house events - The Hogan Flyer, The Ash Suite and the Coiste bainisti boardroom.  The venue has gone under an extensive refurbisment this year including new carpets, decor and artwork.  There has also been a new installation of Audio-visual equipemet.  The new addition of a roof top tour which will include an outdoor adventure and a walk along the top of the stadium adds to its unique play on facilities for private hire.  Our students were extremely impressed at the end of the tour as it provided them with a real insight into the role a Facilities Manager plays within such a large organization.  They were able to relate theroy to practice and get a first hand taster of Facilities Management.
