Elizabeth McGrattan is a qualified nurse and while on her maternity leave from work made a decision to do something beneficial and creative for herself, and enrolled in a number of one day beauty workshops with Portobello Institute.

Elizabeth decided to undertake 3 workshops in the summer of 2017 across nail art, precision brows and semi permanent eyelashes. Elizabeth always loved getting these beauty treatments done so wanted to give it a go herself and “I’m really glad I did!”

Before making her decision Elizabeth spent time researching options and Portobello Institute was a dominant result of her search. On contacting the Institute she found the staff to be very helpful and the fact that she didn’t need any previous beauty qualifications to complete these workshops made it the perfect option for her.

Overall, Elizabeth found the college support to be excellent. “Everyone was very helpful. My baby was sick one day and the college were so obliging in rescheduling me to another day.” She found the skills and the content for each workshop to be very relevant and the tutors were always happy to answer any questions.

Elizabeth feels that she is now confident in putting the skills learned in class into practice. “There is plenty of training and practical sessions during each class.” The help and support from tutors was important for Elizabeth and she found the practical sessions to be really enjoyable during all 3 workshops. Elizabeth has already been recommending the workshops and future plans include keeping up to date with all new skills learned across the workshops.

Whether you want to expand on current skillset, want to explore a new area of expertise or are embarking on a new career, workshops play a vital and positive role in this journey.  Portobello Institute run a full schedule of beauty workshops on a rolling basis and offer 3for2 on workshops allowing for the perfect starter to a new career in beauty or an opportunity to advance your beauty skills.
